In closing probe, Wisconsin court gives big victory to 2016 hopeful Walker

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday ended a criminal investigation of whether Gov. Scott Walker’s 2012 recall election illegally coordinated with wealthy conservative advocacy groups, concluding in a majority ruling that such involvement is protected political free speech. The decision ends a controversial, years-long inquiry that has cast a shadow over Walker’s presidential campaign, which he formally announced Monday. It also has implications for the 2016 election, as many considered the case a state-level test of the consequences that campaigns and outside groups could face if improper coordination is suspected.   Washington Post.  Read More
